When Taiwan expats go overseas what they inevitably miss most is night market food. In Northern Taiwan one of the most famous night markets is in Keelung...the port town about 45 min north of Taipei. When I first lived in Taiwan I had a night market in front of my apartment building every Friday night. They are cacophonous, crowded affairs filled with all sorts of foods, games for kids to play, cheap junk and clothes from China. They are essential Taiwan... Even though my patience for them is low at this stage...becoming more of a misanthrope with age......we took a walk through the one in Keelung...pretty much to say we did...It's all about the experiences after all. Night Market Taiwan Style
